Horsepower & Performance Formulas/Calculators | Hot Rod Forum
https://www.hotrodders.com/threads/horsepower-performance-formulas-calculators.67948/
Aug 13, 2005 . On average, the difference between 1/8 mile and 1/4 mile ET is a factor of 1.55 to 1.57, and the difference between 1/8 mile and 1/4 mile trap speed is a factor of 1.24 to 1.27. If you study a number of time slips, you will see that this holds true for the vast majority of the cases, probably 95% or better. (See my study here)

HP estimate from trap speed? | Team Chevelle

Oct 21, 2005 . I find the best calculator to be the one at Smokemup.com and only use the speed one as the E.T. one is way optimistic. Before recent upgrades my son car made about 825-830 H.P. and ran a best trap speed of 140.27 on the motor and made 646 RWHP on the Dynojet. I find that both ends of the horsepower calculation formula seem to be a little off.

1/4 MILE/HORSEPOWER CALCULATOR | SR20 Forum

Apr 21, 2001 . you got me all wrong, i just gave out the definition for the unit horsepower. i mentioned that those trap-speed calculators probably assumes that there is a 15% parasitic loss (through drivetrain) and that all the crank is hooked up to wheels at axles at 1:1 ratio. hp is a calculated number from torque and engine speed. hp = torque*rpm/5252
