WEBOct 30, 2017 · * [-]onlcr translate newline to carriage return-newline. Notice how the "cr" in icrnl and inlcr and ocrnl mean "carriage return" but it means "carriage return-newline" in onlcr. Is this a typo, or is this how onlcr really works (i.e. it translates \n to \r\n)?

If plug two FTDI serial converters together, and plug them both into my computer, I get two ports called /dev/ttyUSB0 and /dev/ttyUSB1. If I open them both with picocom in different terminals, I can make sure they are connected, properly, by sending messages ...

This will show all settings on the first serial port (replace ttyS0 with ttyUSB0 if using an USB serial port): stty -F /dev/ttyS0 -a. This will set the baud rate to 9600, 8 bits, 1 stop bit, no parity: stty -F /dev/ttyS0 9600 cs8 -cstopb -parenb.
